Grant

Sometimes, I sit and reflect on the fact that Grant used to be "my baby". He is such a sweet, loving, goofy, wild, OCD little man. Don't get me wrong he definitely has his moments when I could ring his neck, but for the most part he is such a blessing. Grant loves to help me cook, play games, farm with Uncle Jeremy and daddy, play with his dogs, help clean up the house, play cowboys, knights, or superheros, watch cartoons, and spend time with Bryce. Grant can often be seen dancing or running wild around the house.Grant has also matured so much in the last few months. He now says his own nightly prayer. It can be the sweetest thing and sometimes the funniest but it comes from his heart. It makes Andrew and I happy that he is learning to follow in the footsteps of the Lord. He brings such joy to my heart. I am so blessed to be his mother!

When Grant turned four back in May we decided to let him have a sleepover party. We had Maddie, Jeremiah, and Brady spend the night. We ate pizza, let the kids decorate their own birthday cakes, played Mouse Trap, and opened presents.

Grant also had his first dentist and eye appointment after his 4th birthday. Both went well. Andrew took G to the eye appointment so i didn't get any pictures but here are some of  Grant's 1st dentist appointment. (And yes he wore sunglasses while the bright light was shinning in his eyes).

Grant also had his 4 year check-up this month. He weighed 37.5lbs and was 42.75 in tall. He is growing right on track according to his pediatrician.  Here are a few more random pictures of Grant. Enjoy!!

pictures, pictures and more pictures...

I have definitely fallen short with my New Year's hope of blogging more. I don't make New Year's resolutions because I can't keep them. In this case, I guess it didn't really matter what I called it.  I hope to pick back up and fill in some gaps since my last post in January. Wow, four whole months have passed .... time really does fly when you are having fun. It will probably take a few posts to catch up.

Our boys are truly blessed to live on the same road as their cousins Maddie (5) and Jeremiah (4). They spend the night all the time. We have fun no matter what we are doing. They love to jump on the trampoline, help me cook, finger paint, play games, or just play with Grant and Bryce's toys. I love my niece and nephew to pieces. They are like my other children.

In March we went to Mobile for a few days to visit MiMi and Pepaw. We also got the great pleasure of meeting my niece Audrey. My brother and his wife live in California so I don't get to see them often. We took the kids to the park, hung out around the house, dyed Easter Egg's and had a small family gathering. It was a great time and I can't wait to see them again.

I have the wonderful privilege of teaching a great Sunday School class at church. They kids range from ages 3-6. They are so cute and incredibly goofy. They like to go outside, blow bubbles, race, paint pictures, and play games.

This is only a little of what the Davis family has been up too. We also went to several birthday parties, Maddie and Jeremiah's T-ball games, our first family trip to a waterpark, Grant's 4th birthday, doctor check-ups, and attended VBS. Too say we are busy would be a huge understatement. I am glad things are starting to slow down but I wouldn't trade my life for anything. We are truly blessed by the Lord.

2013

I can not believe it is 2013. This past year or several years has flown by. Once again I got super busy and haven't been blogging. New Year, New Start.... right??

Over the last month:
We decorated the house for Christmas. We went to 5 family Christmas parties. We celebrated New Years Eve at our friends Josh & Nicole's house. I took down the Christmas decorations and tried to make room for all the new toys (if there is such a thing as room for all their toys). Grant has started acting out. He doesn't listen anymore and started telling stories. Bryce is almost walking. He also is trying to feed himself with a spoon or fork. I've read a ton of books on my Nook at night while everyone sleeps. We have went to a few doctors appointments. The kids went to a few birthday parties. Most weekends have been jam packed.

I am however, glad it is the new year. Things are slowing down and we are having more time to just sit back and relax. We are spending more time at home and enjoying each others company. I do have a few goals I want to work towards in 2013. I want to be the best mother and wife I can be. I want to stop worrying about everyone else and focus on me. I want to work hard and play hard. I want to keep up this blog, if only for my mother who I know checks it all the time to see if I posted more stuff (I love you mom). I want to take more trips to Mobile. I want to go on another family vacation to the beach. I basically just want to enjoy my life and my family & friends.
