Grant's randomness

These are a few random funny and sweet things Grant has said over the past few months:

"Mom, why do you ask so many questions?"

"You are a knucklehead."

"I love you but i'm still on my daddy's team."

" Mom you love me because I pick you flowers"

"My daddy can get that balloon down because he is bigger than the other working men."

"Do you know why i'm a good big brother? Because I listen to you most of the time"

" I thought I saw a pretty cat, I did I did saw a pretty cat"

" You crack me up"

"You look pretty and smell good mommy"

" I'll be back in a jiffy"

"Mom, when I get bigger and i'm a girl I can use your hairspray"

" Mom I just love Bryce's cute name"

Brotherly love

We are so blessed to have two beautiful healthy boys. They love each other so much. I told Andrew I hoped they stayed this close growing up and he informed me that they wouldn't. That would be my dream for my boys to not only be brothers but best friends. Here are several recent pictures of our sweet babies!!

Grant

Sometimes, I sit and reflect on the fact that Grant used to be "my baby". He is such a sweet, loving, goofy, wild, OCD little man. Don't get me wrong he definitely has his moments when I could ring his neck, but for the most part he is such a blessing. Grant loves to help me cook, play games, farm with Uncle Jeremy and daddy, play with his dogs, help clean up the house, play cowboys, knights, or superheros, watch cartoons, and spend time with Bryce. Grant can often be seen dancing or running wild around the house.Grant has also matured so much in the last few months. He now says his own nightly prayer. It can be the sweetest thing and sometimes the funniest but it comes from his heart. It makes Andrew and I happy that he is learning to follow in the footsteps of the Lord. He brings such joy to my heart. I am so blessed to be his mother!

When Grant turned four back in May we decided to let him have a sleepover party. We had Maddie, Jeremiah, and Brady spend the night. We ate pizza, let the kids decorate their own birthday cakes, played Mouse Trap, and opened presents.

Grant also had his first dentist and eye appointment after his 4th birthday. Both went well. Andrew took G to the eye appointment so i didn't get any pictures but here are some of  Grant's 1st dentist appointment. (And yes he wore sunglasses while the bright light was shinning in his eyes).

Grant also had his 4 year check-up this month. He weighed 37.5lbs and was 42.75 in tall. He is growing right on track according to his pediatrician.  Here are a few more random pictures of Grant. Enjoy!!

Great start to a Saturday morning

I love starting my mornings off with a cup of coffee. During the work week i'm the only one up while I drink my coffee. On this lovely saturday morning Andrew is at work but Grant is up with me. He is drinking his usual chocolate milk and watching cartoons. Bryce is still sleeping. I love getting this extra time with just Grant. We are snuggling on the couch watching Jake and the Neverland Pirates. I LOVE him!

Bath time photos

Bryce's 1st bath in the big bathtub.

Bryce and Grant's 1st bath together

Both boys loved their bath together. Grant kept pouring water on himself and Bryce would laugh so hard he couldn't breath. It was absolutely hilarious. I hope to catch it on my video camera next time. I'm so glad my boys love each other so. I know time will change their closeness but right now they both adore each other. I secretly hope this never changes!

Grant's surgery

Yesterday we had our first experience with one of our children being put to sleep. Grant's pee pee hole was not big enough, to be blunt. I can't remember the medical terms but basically they put him to sleep and cute his hole. I was very nervous for him. I thought he would be in a lot of pain and all doped up afterwards. Apparently kids are more resilient then I thought.
We had to be at the hospital at 6am. They were very quick about taking up back and getting things started. They gave Grant some liquid medicine that made him drowsy. It took about ten minutes before he started talking all crazy. He was hilarious. Andrew and I laughed. He was seeing double and making funny faces. The doctors took him back and gave him the "goofy gas" to get him asleep. Once asleep they put in his IV and his anesthesia. The procedure only took about ten minutes. The worst part was when he woke up from the anesthesia. He was disoriented and cried a good bit. The doctors assured me he wasn't in pain, just reacting to the medicine. Grant finally calmed down and went back to sleep. When he woke up he was fine. We had to wait until he peed before we could leave. Of course, the first time was painful but he finally went and we left the hospital around lunch. I'm so proud of Grant. He didn't freak out or anything. Sometimes he seems so much older then three. Being the mom that I am, I took several pictures to remember our first surgery.
